–Wickerbottom
Wickerbottom（ウィッカーボトム）は、経験値を1280XPためるとアンロックされる5番目のキャラクターで、Don't Starve Togetherにおいてプレイできる12人のキャラのうちの1人です。彼女は聡明な司書兼作家の老婦人です。（どうやら出版業者も兼ねているようです）また動物や植物への知識に富み、対象の生物分類と学名を判別することができます。
彼女はゲーム開始時にパピルス紙を2枚所持しています。また持ち前の知識によりサイエンスマシンで作成可能なアイテムは最初からクラフト可能です。彼女は数種類の本を作成することができ、正気度を消費することで本を使用することができます。高齢であるためか食事は傷んだ食べ物が許せず、さらに不眠症を患っています。
前半は持ち前の知識でゲームの進行を円滑に進め、後半は本を活用したトリッキーな戦法を楽しむといった二度おいしい特殊能力が彼女の魅力です。

ウィッカーボトムのバックストーリーは「One For the Books」のムービーとデータ一覧のウィグフリッドのページ（以下の文参照）で確認することができます。
When people meet Ms. Wickerbottom, most assume that what you see is what you get. She certainly looks every bit the typical librarian that she claims to be, as at home amongst the bookstacks as any creature in their native habitat. Nobody would raise an eyebrow at such a person being well-versed in a wide range of subjects. Who would spare a second thought if, upon further inquiry, her knowledge rivaled that of experts? And obviously, no one would think of questioning what a librarian might be involved in after hours, when the library doors are closed to the public...

ウィッカーボトムの特殊能力として彼女独自のクラフトタブである「Books」の存在が挙げられます。パピルス紙2枚と必要なアイテムをそろえることで全5種類の魔法の本を作成することができます。本の効果は便利ですが、使用により正気度を消費します。
以下は作成可能な本の概要です：
- Birds of the World（世界の鳥） ：周囲に20～30羽の鳥を呼び出します。
- Applied Horticulture（応用園芸学） ：植物や作物を一瞬で成長させます。木は成長サイクルの次のステージに進みます。
- Sleepytime Stories（おやすみ前のお話） ：パンフルートと同じ効果。周囲のモブを眠らせます。
- On Tentacles（触手の上に） ：周囲のランダムな場所に3体の触手を召喚します。
- The End is Nigh（終末は近い） ：周囲のランダムな場所に雷を16発落とします。
本は1冊につき最大で5回分使用することができます。正気度は33もしくは50消費しますが、ウィッカーボトムの正気度最大値が250と高く設定されているため丁度相殺される形になります。とはいえ、連続で本を使用したい場合は正気度を回復させる手段を確保しておく必要があります。
ウィッカーボトムは持ち前の知識によりサイエンスマシンが必要なアイテムを無条件で作成できます。さらにサイエンスマシンがあればアルケミーエンジンが必要なアイテムを作成できます。ただしゲーム開始時に作成にサイエンスマシンが必要なアイテムを知っているということは、プロトタイプのアイテムを作成したときに正気度を15Sanity_Meter.png回復できる機会を序盤において失うことになります。正気度の管理を行う際はその点も気をつけておきましょう。サイエンスマシンを作成さえすればほとんどのアイテムを網羅することができますが、唯一「On Tentacles」の本だけはアルケミーエンジンの作成が必要となります。なお、彼女の知識はMagicタブのアイテムには適応されないため魔法アイテムを作成するためには他のキャラと同様プレスティハッチテイターとシャドウマニピュレーターを設置する必要があります。
欠点
ウィカーボトムは不眠症のためテントや携帯毛布で眠ることができません。したがってこれらを作成するのは資源の無駄な上、睡眠による正気度回復の手段を諦めなくてはいけません。
また彼女は美食家であるため傷んだ食べ物が許せません。食べ物の背景が黄色に変わった時点で正気度回復効果を受けられなくなります。さらに満腹度、体力の回復量も通常より少なくなります。とはいえ傷んだ食べ物が許せないだけであって未調理の食材を食べる分には（背景が緑である限り）従来と同様の回復効果を得られます。

Reign of Giants(RoG)もしくはDon't Starve Together(DST)、Shipwrecked(SW)ではSiesta Lean-toが追加されましたがウィッカーボトムは使用することができません。
またSWのワールドには触手がいないため「On Tentacles」の代わりに「Joy of Volcanology（火山学の喜び）」の本が追加されます。読むとその場に4つのドラグーンの卵が降ってきて当たると大ダメージを受けます。落ちた場所には炎が付きます。「触手の上に」の本もSeaworthyを利用して無印またはRoGのワールドに移動すれば従来通り作成することができます。
Don't Starve Together
Don't Starve Togetherでは専用のアイテムである本棚を作成し、そこに本を保存できるようになりました。
また、無印との農業の仕様変更に伴いApplied Horticulture（応用園芸学）の本は削除され、代わりに以下の2冊が追加されました：
- Horticulture, Abridged - 半径7.5ターフ分の距離内にある農園の作物、ベリーの茂み、バナナの茂み、ストーンフルーツの茂みが10個のみ成長する。
- Applied Silviculture - 半径7.5ターフ分の距離内にある木、草の茂み、苗木、葦の茂みが成長する。
他にも、Don't Starve Togetherでは新たに11冊の本が追加されています：
- Horticulture, Expanded - Horticulture, Abridgedの上位互換。成長する植物の数が10から15個に増えている。
- The Angler's Survival Guide - 近くの海から海水魚の群れを召喚する。
- Pyrokinetics Explained - 周囲の炎や煙がくすぶっているオブジェクトを消火する。消火するとFiery Penが入手できる。消火をするたびFiery Penの耐久値が回復する。
- Overcoming Arachnophobia - 地面に2分間クモの巣を召喚する。巣の上を通るモブ（飛んでいるものを除く）は移動速度が遅くなる。
- Tempering Temperatures - 周囲にいるプレイヤーは濡れ度がリセットされ、インベントリ上の濡れたアイテムが乾く。また、体温が35℃にリセットされる。
- Lux Aeterna - 使用するとその場に4分間光が差し込み光源となる。地下で使用すると光源とともに地震が発生する。
- Lux Aeterna Redux - Lux Aeternaの上位互換。より大きな光が16分間差し込み光源となる。地下で使用すると光源とともに地震が発生する。
- Practical Rain Rituals - 雨/雪が降っていない時に使用すると雨/雪が降り始め、振っている時に使用すると止む。近くにある農園の土を一瞬で湿らせる。
- Lunar Grimoire - 使用すると次に迎える夜が満月になる。
- Apicultural Notes - Grumble Beeを2体召喚します。（最大16体まで召喚可能）
- The Everything Encyclopedia - 周囲のプレイヤーのアイテムの作成難度が1段階下がる。

- ゲーム開始からバックパックとショベルを作成できるためGrass Tuft、Sapling、Berry Bushをあらかじめ集めておけば拠点となる場所を決めた時にすぐ植え替えが可能となります。Grass TuftやBerry Bush用に肥やしも集めておきましょう。
- 本の使用には正気度を消費するため序盤はシルクハットや調理済みの緑キノコ、後半は冬にタムオシャンターを入手して回復手段を確保しておきましょう。
- 「応用園芸学」の本を利用してドラゴンフルーツおよびドラゴンパイを大量生産できます。農場に種を植え、本を読めば一瞬で実がなります。
- 「世界の鳥」の本で召喚した鳥たちはアイプラントを利用して一気に倒せます。その後はルアープラントにアイテムを消化される前に迅速に処理しましょう。
- 非SWのワールドでプレイしている場合であれば、牙の罠の代用として「触手の上に」の本による触手のトラップゾーンを作る作戦もあります。これはクモの巣やセイウチのキャンプのそばに作ってやると便利ですが、ドロップアイテムを回収するときは気を付けてください。
- 葦の罠のセットピースを発見し、かつそこにいる触手をうまく処理できれば優れた葦の供給源となります。「応用園芸学」の本で葦を大量に栽培し、冬に「世界の鳥」の本でスノウバードを呼び出し上記の方法で鳥を狩ることで大量の吹き矢を作り出すことができます。
- 「終末は近い」の雷はボスモンスターや通常モンスターにダメージを与えるとともに自分へのヘイトを逸らす目的としても役に立ちます。ただし近くに避雷針があれば雷は全てそちらに向いてしまい無意味な結果となってしまいますし、それ以外の場所でも近くに可燃物があると火災を引き起こしてしまうリスクも伴います。本の使いどころには気をつけましょう。
- 似たような効果として「火山学の喜び」の本も役に立ちますが、こちらにも同じようなリスクが伴うため注意が必要です。
- SWにおける「火山学の喜び」の本を利用して容易に黒曜石の量産を行うことができます。ドラグーンの卵の落下により形成されたマグマだまりに氷を使用することで黒曜石を入手することができます。
- Don't Starve TogetherのイベントWinter's Feastでプレゼントを貰うためにはプレイヤーが眠る必要があります。ウィッカーボトムの場合マンドレイクを食べるなどして眠る必要があります。貰えるプレゼントの中にはパンフルートが入っているので、これをDeconstruction Staffで解体し出てきたマンドレイクを食べていけば強引ではありますが継続してプレゼントを貰うことが可能です。

- ウィッカーボトムの声は、オーボエです。
- ウィッカーボトムという名前は苗字であり、名前は不明となっています。
- ウィッカーボトムの目はほとんど閉じたままですが、ワームホールから出たときと、正気度減少によるモーションで目を開きます。
- Don't Starve Togetherではパンフルート（PvPをオンにしている場合）を聞かせたりBeargerのあくびを受けたりすることで眠るようになりました。ただし彼女は眠る時も目を開けています。
- ウィッカーボトムは動植物の生物分類と学名を判別することができますが、Don't Starveの世界独自の生物、すなわち彼女がもと居た世界にある生物以外のものは判別することはできません。（逆に言うと何がDon't Starve独自の動物なのか、ある程度の見当をつけることができます）
- ゲームのデータファイルにはウィッカーボトムの頭蓋骨があります。
- 「Strange New Powers」アップデート以前では彼女は魔法アイテムも最初から作成可能という特殊能力を持っていました。
- ウィッカーボトムのセリフから判断するに、彼女のお気に入りの食べ物はフィッシュスティックのようです。
- 雷に当たると他のキャラと同様髪の毛にも骨が見られます。加えて、ウィッカーボトムはスカートと靴にも骨が見られます。
- ウィノナがリリースされる前、ウィッカーボトムは唯一の黒目の女性キャラでした。
- Kittykitを調べた時に「Now it feels like home.（家に帰ってきたみたい）」と言ったり、Lucky Cat Jarを調べた時に「What a positively adorable kitty cat. Sigh.（なんて可愛らしい子猫ちゃんなのかしら、はぁ…）」と呟くことから彼女はかつて猫を飼っていたと考えられます。さらにウィルソンもLucky Cat Jarを調べた時に「I think the librarian had a cat.（あの司書さんは猫を飼ってたようだね）」と呟きます。
- 「世界の鳥」の本を調べた時のセリフから、彼女の好きな鳥はニシアメリカオオコノハズクだとわかります。ちなみにこの鳥はThe Screecherの怪物のモチーフでもあります。
- 多肉植物の鉢植えを調べた時に「I wonder how my garden is doing without me.（私のいない間庭はどうなっているのかしら）」と呟くことから彼女は家に庭を所持していると考えられます。
