Year of the Beefalo（ビーファローの年）はDon't Starve Togetherにて導入されたイベントです。2021年2月4日から開催されています。[1]ビーファローは牛のモブ、すなわちビーファローの年とは2021年の干支が丑年であることからきています。

基本的なシステムは過去に開催されたゴブラーの年、ヴァーグの年、ブタの王様の年、キャラットの年と同様で、イベントアイテムは奉納タブから作成することで得られます。ただし今回は作成できるアイテムが一部変更・追加され、アイテムの素材である幸運の金塊を手に入れる条件が変更されています。イベント期間外もこのイベントを行いたいときはワールド設定で「Seasonal Events」の項目を「Year of the Beefalo」に設定してサーバーを建てましょう。

イベント期間中にゲームを起動するとログインボーナスとして「Festive Saddle」のスキンを入手できます。

Beefalo Shrine（ビーファローの社）はPrototypers & Stations Filter、Structures Filter、Special Event Filterから作成できる建造物であり、作成には金塊8つと板2つ必要です。プロトタイプを作成する必要は無く、いつでも作成可能です。

ここにビーファローの毛を供えることで社は「稼働」状態となり、近くに立つとOfferings Filterを開くことができます。ここで通常の金塊やイベントアイテムである幸運の金塊を使って様々なアイテムを作成することができます。

Lucky Gold Nugget（幸運の金塊）はビーファローコンテストに出場したときに貰えるRed Pouches（赤い袋）を開けると得られます。これを使用して奉納タブのアイテムを作成できます。小サイズには1個、大サイズには3～4個の幸運の金塊が入っています。

Beefalo Pageant[]

このイベントで幸運の金塊を得るにはBeefalo Pageant（ビーファローコンテスト）に出場する必要があります。コンテストを開催するにあたってまずは会場を設営しましょう。会場にしたい場所に審判台を設置し、審判台を中心とした円の中にビーファローのステージを最低4つ設置すれば完成です。次にコンテストに出場させるビーファローを連れてきます。適当な個体を見つけたらビーファローのベルから「Bond（仲間にする）」コマンドを実行し名前を付けてあげましょう。完了するとその個体がついて来るようになるので、そのままステージに近づいて「Hitch（つなぐ）」コマンドを実行すればコンテストのエントリーが完了します（発情期のときはエントリー出来ないので注意）。

準備が終わったら審判台を調べると審判（美術品マニア）が出てきてコンテストが始まります。もし参加プレイヤーが4人に満たない場合は代わりにマームやブタがビーファローを連れて参加します。コンテストが始まると審判は「Formality（上品さ）」、「Festivity（楽しさ）」、「Fearsome（いかめしさ）」の3要素について今回探し求めているビーファローの条件を言うので、プレイヤーはその条件に一番近いと思った個体を一体選びましょう。条件を伝えたあとに解答時間が設けられるのでその間にこれだと思う個体もしくはそのステージをクリックしましょう。クリックするとステージの柱に花飾りが付きます。他の個体への花飾りの付け替えは制限時間内であれば何回でも可能です。

解答時間が終わると審判による結果発表が行われます。条件に近い個体が3位から1位の順に発表され、1位の個体を選んだプレイヤーには赤い袋（大）、2～3位には赤い袋（小）が贈られます[要検証]。また、参加人数分の型紙の切れ端も一緒に配られます。

Beefalo Bell（ビーファローのベル）は奉納タブから通常の金塊3個とフリント1個で作成できるアイテムです。ベルを左クリックし選択した状態でカーソルをビーファローに重ねると「Bond（仲間にする）」コマンドが出てきます。このときもう一度左クリックすると名前を付けるウィンドウが出てくるので、デフォルト名「〇〇's Beefalo」を書き換える（そのままでも可）か、「Random（ランダム）」ボタンをクリックして自動生成された名前を付けることができます。名前が決まったら「Done（決定）」ボタンを押せば正式に仲間入りとなり、そのビーファローはプレイヤーについて来るようになります。仲間に出来るのは一体のみです。仲間から外す場合はベルにカーソルを合わせると「Break Bond（仲間解消）」コマンドが出るのでそのまま右クリックすれば外すことができます。

Grooming Station Kit（おめかし台作成キット）は奉納タブから通常の金塊8個と板2個で作成できるアイテムです。地面に設置するとアイテムが組み上げられGrooming Station（おめかし台）が完成します。ここでは仲間にしたビーファローの着せ替えを行うことができます。

まずおめかし台にカーソルを合わせると「Hitch to～」とコマンドが出るので左クリックするとビーファローが台に移動します。その後もう一度カーソルを合わせると「Dress Up」とコマンドが出るので右クリックすると着せ替え画面に移り、衣装を着せ替えることができます。ビーファローが発情期の時は使用できません。着せ替えが終わったら台にカーソルを合わせると「Unhitch to～」とコマンドが出るので左クリックするとビーファローを再び連れ出せるようになります。

Pattern Scraps（型紙の切れ端）は奉納タブから幸運の金塊5個で作成できるアイテムです。ビーファローコンテストが終了した時にも参加人数分の切れ端を貰うことができます。切れ端をミシンに3つ入れると衣装の型紙が完成します。切れ端には「Formality（上品さ）」、「Festivity（楽しさ）」、「Fearsome（いかめしさ）」の3種類があり、入れた切れ端の種類と組み合わせに応じて以下の表の通りに型紙が作成されます。

もしいずれの組み合わせにも該当しなかった場合はミシンは稼働せず切れ端をその場に落とします。

Costume Patterns[]

Costume Patterns（衣装の型紙）は設計図のように読んで使用します。読むとその衣装のスキン一式が解放され、ビーファロー人形がドロップします。新規のスキンを入手した場合は画面左上におめかし台のアイコンによる通知が出てきます。なお、型紙はすでに入手済みのスキンであっても何度でも読んで人形を得ることができます。

ビーファローを連れておめかし台を使用すると着せ替え画面に移ります。システム的には衣装だんすのスキン選択画面と似ていますが、型紙は読んでもキュリオキャビネットに保存されず、サーバーをリセットすると一から学び直しになります。スキンのランクは「Complimentary」に設定されています。なお、スキンは糸で作成したりSteamマーケットで売り買いまたは交換したりすることはできません。
