Nightmare ThroneはAdventure Modeの最終章でのみ見ることができます。とげだらけの黒い玉座で、だれであろうと座ったものを拘束します。Nightmare Thorneを攻撃するとプレイヤーの武器は破壊され、弱い雷がプレイヤーに落ちてきます。最初はMaxwellが玉座に座っていますが、プレイヤーがもしNightmare LockをDivining Rodで開けることを選択すれば、 Maxwellが解放され、一瞬伸びあがった後骨となり、塵と消え失せるでしょう。そして大きな影の手が2本地面から伸びてきて、プレイヤーキャラクターを地面にひきずりこみます。そしてプレイヤーのキャラクターが捕らえられたNightmare Thorneが再び現れ、すぐそばのGramaphoneが音楽を奏ではじめ、画面がフェードアウトしていきストーリーは終わります。

Maxwell's speech[]

プレイヤーが玉座のMaxwellに近づくと、彼はしゃべり始めます。すべてのセリフを聞くには彼をクリックする必要があります。下記のセリフをすべて言い終えると、Gramaphoneに関するものを除いて、彼は"..."としか言わなくなります。

• Nightmare Throneは以前は違うグラフィックでしたが、現在のものに置き換えられました。もともとはMaxwellを開放するにはThe Shadow Keyを使っていましたが、Divining Rodに置き換えられました。
• マップのどこかには、完全に動作するWooden Thingが存在しています。プレイヤーは使用することができますが、たんに同じマップに戻ってくるだけです。 Maxwellは自分も同じことをしてみたといいます。
• Adventure Modeを同じキャラクターで続けてプレイすることで、同じキャラクターが二人いる状況を見ることができます。一人は玉座に拘束されており、もう一人は入れ替わることができます。

Bugs[]

• MaxwellをWoodieがLucy the Axeで攻撃すると、ルージーが破壊されてしまいます。もしWooodieがMaxwellを玉座から解放すると、玉座に拘束されたときに玉座が回り始めます。同じことはWillowでConsoleを使い、Adventure Modeをクリアしようとしたときにも起こります。
• Don't Starve TogetherでNightmare Throneをスポーンさせようとすると、ゲームがクラッシュします。
