| The prototype of the Io Cruiser was first revealed during the Extinguishers' military drills a few years ago. The Arbiter Committee executives were highly impressed by its high-powered ion cannons. After numerous rounds of weapon testing and improvements, the Io Cruiser proved its worth in actual combat as part of "Operation: Blanket." A small fleet comprised of Io Cruisers destroyed hundreds of Pluto Wandering Brotherhood ships and basically wiped out all its forces hiding in the Kuiper belt. |

- Game description: An Io Cruiser designed and developed by Dysnomia Shipyard. A Large ion cannon is fitted at the bow of the ship that is able to deal sustained long-range damage to large targets. The whole ship is designed around this ion cannon, and it is equipped with additional steering engines to boost the primary cannon's accuracy and the ship's mobility. It is also equipped with light missiles and turrets for supporting fire and self-defense.
The Io Assault Ion Cruiser is armed with a large ion cannon. The Io can deal immense damage to all ships, but at the cost of being a front row ship with fewer armor upgrades than other cruisers, and much less hp. A level 1 Io can be destroyed relatively easily, especially with its low physical resistance, however upgrading its evasion can allow it to reach levels of survivability on par with most other front-line cruisers. It can additionally be noted that the Io is weak to sub system damage, as the majority of its damage dealing potential is in its main weapon; the ion cannon.

The High-speed Io's Ion Cannon has had its damage per minute cut in half, a major blow to its effectiveness. In exchange, it has a much faster targeting speed and attack cycle, allowing it to function better when facing many small ships, that die frequently. The Ion Cannon's strategy is also much stronger than the regular Io, improving both accuracy and evasion, with 50% uptime. The High-speed Io still probably won't do more damage than the regular Io, even against small ships, however the strategy's extra evasion is a powerful boost to survivability when combined with its existing evasion.

The Siege Type Io has a massive boost to siege damage, allowing it to destroy structures before the opponent can react. In exchange, the ion cannon fires slightly less often, dealing 13% less damage per minute, and the cannons are not able to target ships.
